Today in chemistry we made our own batteries flashlight as a group. My group and I failed to do it the first time so we had to do it again the next day. Some of the materials that we used where.
cardboard
pennies
sand paper
LED
vinegar.
This was done by using specific pennies (from after 1983) to harness the power of the zinc underneath the layer of copper we used pennies as the copper, and sanded them down to use the zinc underneath the copper layer. Then we dipped the cardboard into vinegar that is full of electrolytes.
This experiment went alright it could've been better. The first time we tried it didn't work so we had to do another one the next day. I'm not sure why the first one didn't work but the second time we didn't we got it to work but then the LED broke like ten minutes later I worked with Alex, Kimo and Angel I think the first one didn't work because we where trying to rush things. Something that I would do in the future is take thing more slow because I feel like I always try to rush things and then it never works.
