Today in class we started to actually launch rockets for the the first time. Previously we created rocket engines but we didn't get to actually launch them. This experiment went bad for me. It went bad for me because I failed to do it the first time so had to do it the second time. The second time I got it all done and soon as I was walking out the door it broke. I thought it was going to work out way better then what happened.
For our experiment we took some paper and wrapped it tightly around a dowel and held it tight through the means of masking tape. We then took a small ball of aluminum foil and pounded it into a cap inside the makeshift paper housing. With that completed, we added the fuel which was a finely ground mixture of 65% Potassium Nitrate and 35% sugar. We pounded it even more into the tube and capped it off again with another piece of aluminum foil, finally closing it with more tape. Then, we simply drilled a bit to add the fuse and took it out into the field for take off! Some of them really flew!
This experiment I worked alone it was more do it your self of project because people wanted to have there own rockets. There where some people that worked together and made a rocket I think if I worked with a partner on this I would of finished easier because I wouldn't have to rush everything.
